George Soros (wikipedia) is best known as a speculator in the USA who made a considerable fortune through Soros Fund Management. However in the beginning, and increasingly over the last few years, he's also been a philosopher and since 2008 has been recognised for successfully predicting the financial crisis of 2007/2008.
