The 26th Chaos Communication Congress was held in Berlin, Germany, just before the New Year (it is held every year between Christmas and New Year). As usual there were many good talks, more than 50% of which were given in English (English being the common language of business in Europe these days, much to the dismay of the French who miss the days when French was the common language of business). The CCC (who run the Congress) are dedicated to getting recordings of the sessions online quickly, so video and audio has been appearing over the last couple of days and now (2010-01-02) about two thirds of the recordings are online. I've been listening to some of them (since the audio is (a) much smaller, and (b) more convenient when trying to do something else). The talks are very technical since this is basically a hacker conference, and it's interesting to hear things that are on the cutting edge of development and investigation.

Schedule for the four days:

Conference Recordings Available

(Note that some of the recordings are indicated, in the file name, as being in German (de), but the ones listed in the schedule as being in English (en) seem to be actually in English despite the filename. Some of the file names are being corrected as they go, so hopefully most of them will end up correct in the filenames.)

Related: Chaos Radio International, a (now discontinued) short series of Podcasts in English (last one was about 18 months ago).

Also: 2600 magazine, Off The Hook radio show (and podcast), Off The Wall radio show (and podcast), and Voice of Long Island radio show from 1981 (and soon 1982) (being released week by week as a podcast, 28 years later).
